We did it again, second year running! Picking up App of the Year 2018 at the prestigious digital DANI Awards in Belfast, Northern Ireland and also shortlist finalists in the Best Healthcare Campaign category.

We entered two separate mobile App projects into the DANI awards this year and having understood the calibre of the finalists as the shortlist’s were announced, we knew it was going to be a tough night to come away with anything. On the night, the DANI organisers had put on a great show piece and as we sat down to our table we all scanned the room (as you do) looking out for people we knew and other agencies we partnered with throughout the year. Its a great feeling to sit amongst the industry, let your hair down and soak in the innovative projects coming out of Belfast. The categories covered a wide range within the digital arena and its testament to the blood, sweat and tears that go into client projects.

First category out of the starting block was the ‘App of the Year’ award, we had entered the PBNI (Probation Board Northern Ireland) mobile App project and we were all a little nervous as the envelope was being opened. When we heard Sugar Rush being announced as the winner we couldn’t believe that we had scooped top prize second year running. We couldn’t wait to pick up that award and bring it back to the studio.

The PBNI’s mobile App has transformed their communication, not just for the organisation but ultimately for their User’s. The success of the mobile app has spread throughout their European counterparts and PBNI have been asked to present the mobile app at various industry events. To get a better insight into the PBNI mobile app please see our PBNI project page.

A little later in the evening the category for Best Healthcare Campaign was announced. We had entered our MDE mobile app project which was created for the Medical & Dental Education Department at the NHS Western Trust. Unfortunately we didn’t win, however being the only mobile app shortlisted in the best healthcare campaign category was extremely proud for the entire Sugar Rush team. To get a better insight into the NHS Western Trusts MDE mobile app please see our MDE project page.

The Sugar Rush team would like to thank both of our clients (PBNI & NHS Western Trust) for allowing each project to be entered into the DANI’s and we’re currently working with our clients on some top secret projects for next years entries.
